Brinicle Antarctica

In the Antarctic Ocean, you can find south water excluded from the sea ice that freezes instantly on its way down to the ocean floor. The so-called brinicle forms a sheath of ice, resembling an underwater tornado, a huge giant stalactite of ice that kills everything when it touches the bottom.
The phenomena was first filmed by Hugh Miller and Doug Anderson for the BBC.
